This Management Accountant role is a commercially driven part of the finance function based from the Retail companies head office in Peterborough. The company are keen to find an individual with a desire to progress and good base management accounting experience along with financial analysis capability

Their finance team controls the cash within the business and also provides support to the business to help it make decisions to drive overall business performance and hence a wider engagement in the business. The function plays a huge role in the company performance and they are full of ideas to take that even further with a growing and dynamic team.

Description

This role is for a finalist/part qualified Management Accountant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager with preparation of monthly reports for senior management, including forecast packs and board packs.
• Month end management accounts production with analysis thereof with commercial input
• Planning and communicating timetables and liaising across the various Finance Teams to ensure information is received on a timely basis.
• Ownership and continual improvement of cashflow and balance sheet forecasting model
• Working with Finance Systems to drive continuous improvement in processes
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required

Profile

Management Accountant Skills required:

• Part Qualified/finalist ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
• Working knowledge of all three key financial statements (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statement)
• Retail background preferred but not essential
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, be well-organised, and plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure
• Highly numerate and commercially aware
• Good communication/interpersonal skills
• Flexible and open to change
