Description
Strategic Intent
To support Risk Management of Commercial Cards portfolio, in the area of credit policy development and management, provide inputs for development of appropriate acquisition policies and review implementation of same through credit processes and to work closely with Business stakeholders and operational departments to execute/implement the policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide meaningful inputs to develop / modify credit policies to address both opportunities for expansion of volume as well as mitigate any quality/performance issues of any segment
- Pro-actively initiating credit policy revisions arising out of change in regulation or other environmental factors viz. legal or market changes
- Actively engage with cards product & sales teams, to identify areas of opportunity/concern related to credit policy
- Actively engage with credit operations teams, particularly credit initiation and collections department, while developing / reviewing credit policy and risk control framework to preserve the portfolio quality and meet business objectives
- Assess and approve card applications with credit deviations &/or above Credit Officers' delegated authority limits at Credit Initiation (CI) and exercise delegated credit authority diligently to safeguard the Bank's interest at all times
- Provide policy clarification and briefing to the Commercial Card Sales/Business and CI teams, where necessary
- Ensure Credit Program and Business Credit Policy & Procedure Manual are promptly renewed and approved before the expiry/due dates.
- Monitor new originations and portfolio and ensure that these meet expected performance trends
- Coordinate and liaise with the respective Business Activity Owners on the quarterly tracking and monitoring of Third-Party Commercial Risks (TPCR) to ensure the exposures are within the approved limits, including the annual review (if required)
- Ensure and monitor strict compliance with all regulations and controls as set by the Bank, Global Risk and external regulatory authorities
- Support business to achieve consistent satisfactory audit rating, through MIS and risk policy inputs

Qualifications
- Graduate, preferably in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Computing or Statistics
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience in banking / financial service industry - preferably, experience to include credit/risk management area in Commercial Lending
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, possess initiative and committed to quality
- Strong team player with ability to work and think independently
- Proficiency in the English language (both verbal and written)
- Ability to present information in a concise and precise manner to senior management
