Assistant Accountant

A long standing, successful not-for-profit organisation based on the Wirral is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their busy team on an assignment for a period of approximately 3 months. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the full purchase ledger function, and assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation of management accounts including posting accruals, prepayments and depreciation.

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

• Reconciling and processing invoices and credit notes
• Creating/maintaining supplier records on Sage
• Preparing BACS runs
• Assisting in the preparation of accruals and prepayments
• Post payroll journals
• Assisting with company sales ledger when required
• Balance sheet reconciliations

Essential Requirements are:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• AAT Qualified is desirable
• Strong systems experience including MS Excel and Sage Line 50
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to hit the ground running
