This privately-owned Australian organisation has been an instant success since establishing in the early 2000s and has doubled in size in the last few years. They have diversified their operations into various industries and are one of the key players in the education and training industries. They are known for their keen interest in giving back to the community, their integrity and their focus on helping people and doing the right thing, always.

The opportunity

Due to continuous growth (around 150% in the past 5 years), they are looking to add an experienced and outstanding Finance person to lead their team and take it to the next level. Managing a small team of 3 people, you will be a in a strategic position within the organisation and reporting directly to the CEO with constant interaction with the business owner as well.

Part of your responsibilities will be to manage a fairly autonomous finance team and provide them with direction and leadership and supervise the month/year end processes. The main focus of the role however, is to partner with the executive management team and provide in depth financial analysis, strategic insight and drive the financial performance of the organisation. You will have a various range of responsibilities and a be a key part of the decision-making process.

With operations in NSW, QLD as well as Malaysia, they are looking to expand furthermore and you will have a key role to play in the negotiations, the contract management and legal processes. You will monitor the performance of the organisation and analyse industry trends and recommend ideal course of action or potential initiatives. You will also be involved in various projects in their diversified businesses and be involved in tenders and other ad hoc work

The ideal candidate

More than anything, they are looking a like-minded individual, who is passionate about helping people and giving to the community. You will also need to demonstrate the following attributes:
- Experience in a leadership role within a finance team
- Experience within the education, not for profit or aged care industries would be ideal
- Qualifications, ideally CPA or CA
- Outstanding communication, negotiations and influencencing skills
- Knowledge of the Mandarin language will be highly regarded
- Strong Analytical skills
