The Role

As part of the International Payroll Team, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the global Finance strategy. Supporting business growth in an increasingly regulated environment whilst ensuring payroll and tax is compliant across the region.

This is a key role within the organisation overseeing complex multi country payrolls including the monthly processing of 50+ employing entities across the EMEA region. The Payroll Manager will have the responsibility for ensuring that all salaries, associated deductions and benefits are processed/paid on a timely basis by the whole team. They will also be responsible for ensuring all statutory filings are completed and deadlines met.

Key Payroll Responsibilities

Provide administrative support across the EMEA payrolls, as directed by the VP International Payroll.
Duties include:
  • Co-ordinate the processing of several European locations, working with the outsourced payroll vendor
  • Ensure compliance with Moody's standards of operation, maintaining segregation of duties
  • Ensure the vendor processes the payroll and benefits adhering to statutory obligations
  • Verify data with HR Connect reports capturing all new starters leavers and changes in a timely fashion
  • Comparison of output verified against previous month's output
  • Completion of post payroll administration, including preparation and reconciliation of cost reports
  • Acting as co-ordinator for employee and third party queries
  • To provide general payroll or benefits support, as required
  • To run the monthly EMEA Interface (together with associated reports) and distribute accordingly
  • Manage the EMEA payroll to include Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Dubai, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia etc.
  • Act as cover for other payrolls
  • Post payroll reports e.g. GTN, GL, Pension etc.
  • Completion of funding and/or estimated funding requests ahead of payments
  • Track the payment of payrolls/taxes/social contributions and vendor invoices ensuring completion
  • Run various reports in Success Factors to support payroll processing
  • Responding to administrative requests e.g. authorising employee payslips, providing mortgage requests, statement of earnings etc.
  • Maintain up to date Payroll Procedures for each entity
  • Upload and maintain the benefits section on Moody's net (team to provide documentation when applicable)
  • Develops relationships with other departments' to allow for the leveraging of support when issues need to be resolved.
  • Review, analyse and recommend policies and practices in related to the Payroll functions to ensure they continue to support the organizations needs and best practice.
  • Provide advisory and timely support to other HR teams facilitating them to be a success in managing client's expectation.

Additional Duties
  • To ensure that all enquiries are handled in a courteous and timely manner as required
  • Preparation of any ad hoc reports, as required
  • The ability to prioritise work assignments to accommodate urgent requests as needed.
  • To ensure that all data handled meets with stringent audit/SOX requirements
  • Maintain a flexible attitude.

  • Ability on own and to work with team members to develop creative solutions to workflow issues.

Qualifications
  • Graduate calibre
  • CIPP qualified (full or part)

Experience
  • Very good knowledge of EMEA Payrolls
  • Experience of working in a payroll environment
  • Working knowledge of EMEA payrolls (in particular Belgium/France/Germany)
