The EMEA Finance Legal Entity Strategy team is responsible for leading the EMEA Finance agenda for European Legal Entity Strategy, with the following key deliverables:
  • Regulatory capital impact assessment in the EMEA region of legal entity simplification initiatives, business re-organizations, new business initiatives and external commitments to UK and European regulators;
  • Strategic set up of an optimal legal entity structure in EMEA, including projects to optimize the capital footprint in the region;
  • Coordination of business transfers, overseeing of valuation of businesses, and leading legal entity structuring projects.
The team works closely with the business, risk groups and other corporate functions to achieve these objectives.

Objectives and deliverables for this role -
  • Pillar 1 counterparty credit risk capital projections for EMEA CIB Capital Committee and Prudential Steering Committee, with a strong focus on completeness and accuracy of capital outputs, variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
  • Pillar 1 capital forecasts covering key EMEA entities.
  • Calculate capital requirements for EMEA regulated entities based on agreed scope and assumptions.
  • Review and ensure integrity of the data inputs; raise concerns around data accuracy to the management team to ensure projections are aligned with risk profile.
  • Preparation of data outputs and summary of key metrics to the manager, with an emphasis on timely and accurate reporting within Finance and the wider Firm, to ensure alignment of the projections with assumptions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of underlying business/capital assumptions underpinning the capital projections process for European entities.

  • EMEA LE Strategy regulatory deliverables. The role requires:
  • Support capital projections process for all ad-hoc external and internal requests.
  • Support the team to strengthen/streamline the projections process with a key focus on automation, and completeness and accuracy.
  • Process, manipulate and prepare large sets of data in a meaningful way which will feed into the capital projections for ad-hoc requests.

Knowledge, skills and experience required :
  • Part Qualified / Qualified Accountant with relevant experience
  • Extensive discipline in data integrity, data reconciliation, controls and documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - MS Excel , MS Access, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage and take responsibility for own work, producing reliable, high-quality outputs to an agreed timeline. Good task management skills and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze, to manipulate and to present data, focusing on material outcomes and producing coherent outputs
  • Ability to communicate clearly, with the written and oral presentation skills to deliver clear messages for a senior audience
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex rules frameworks
  • Proven track record of partnering across teams and across functions
  • Understanding of basic capital and accounting concepts
  • Knowledge of standard Microsoft office tools
  • Working knowledge of the current EU/international prudential regime, including Basel, CRD / CRR, and the Pillar 2 / ICAAP framework
  • Experience of capital calculations and planning
  • Knowledge of the investment banking industry, products and business lines.
