My client is looking for a Financial Controller to work side my side with the MD and help grow the business.

A market leader in the UK for what they do. They work extremely closely with their customers to build long term relationships.

Their product offering is a second to none and due to the continued expansion of the business they are looking for a Financial Controller.

Description

A newly created opportunity for a Financial Controller based in South Yorkshire working for a growing SME business based in the region looking after a team of 3 across financial and management accounts, process improvement and systems.

As a newly created role they are seeking an innovator who can bring their own ideas to the table of how to improve and develop staff and systems within the organisation and are looking for some to be a leader of change within the role.

You will be working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders so will need to be an articulate communicator and strong influencer across the wider business able to deal with change at a swift pace.

The family owned business has grown by acquisition and organically over recent years and now they are looking for a Financial Controller to join the business to work closely with the MD on driving the business forward. My client is looking for an FC who can step up to be the No.1 on site when the MD is not there.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Partnering with the MD and the Senior Leadership Team on strategy

  • Drive commercial insight into the SLT

  • Full ownership of the P&L, balance sheet, forecast, month end accounts & budgets

  • Attend customer and supplier meetings and provide support for any commercial bids, modelling and pricing for any new contracts

  • Oversee Capex planning, cash flow forecasts, month end accounts, internal/external audits, stocktaking, co-ordinate year end reporting packs and tax packs

  • Identify cost saving processes where possible

Profile

  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant

  • Strong intellect and a pragmatic approach

  • Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership and responsibility for workload

  • Positive attitude, approachable personality and a good sense of humour

  • Good communication and presentation skills, both written and oral

  • An eye for detail and the ability to consider and raise wider issues

  • A desire to maintain a high quality of output at all times

  • Smart, professional manner and appearance

  • Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to increase work rate when required
