You will be responsible to the Group Financial Controller for the day to day financial administration across the organisation. This will involve providing support with various tasks including Payroll, Sage 50 transactions and the preparation of all supplier payments and staff expenses.

My client are a group of SME's working in the Manufacturing and Engineering industry. Based in Poole, they are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. As you settle into the role, further responsibilities across the group will be handed down, with the idea that you would be a Management Accountant within due course.

Description

As an Assistant Management Accountant, your key responsibilities are:

  • Responsibility for the processing of sales invoices and ongoing review and maintenance of customer ledgers.
  • Responsibility for payment of purchase invoices and banking of sales receipts.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and other balance sheet control accounts.
  • Preparing and posting of month end journals for management accounts.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Assisting with the production of the annual statutory accounts and supporting schedules for audit purposes.
  • Assisting with company stock take.
  • Assist with processing of monthly payroll.

Profile

To be successful in your application for Assistant Management Accountant, you should be:

  • Actively studying AAT, or completed and studying other relevant accounting qualification.
  • Exposure to month end, in particular the preparation of Management Accounts.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a finance department.
  • Excellent numeracy skills & attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite (particularly Excel).
