Commercial Accountant

Our client in Borehamwood, are looking to recruit for a Commercial Accountant, reporting directly to the Senior Financial Controller. This role offers great exposure and the opportunity to join a very dynamic and social team. As a UK leading business, and a highly recognised company, with new offices and a scope to progress from this position within 18 months.

Description

Key duties as a Commercial Accountant:

• Financial reporting of and insight into cost of sales and overheads to ensure the best decisions and improvements are made based on accurate and insightful information.

• Build highly effective relationships with key cross functional personnel involved.

• Support and influence management team at the Borehamwood site to deliver conversion cost improvements.

• Help to drive and embed a continuous improvement culture across both the finance and operational teams.

• Responsible for the preparation and take complete ownership of the monthly management accounts pack, assist in annual budget/projection, BI monthly forecasts and year end accounts.

• Deliver accurate cost of sales and overhead reporting with key variances to budget / forecast which are fully understood and effectively communicated to site management

• Responsible for completion and submission of reports, analysis and data

• Work with site teams to investigate adverse operational variances and develop countermeasures.
  Support the site in its lean manufacturing development e.g. production meetings, process auditing and Key Performance Indicators.

Profile

Ideally a part qualified or finalist stage accountant or analyst, the chosen candidate will be competent modeller with strong excel skills.

The candidate for this Commercial Accountant position, must have worked in a hands on, role for the last two years.

Must haves:

• Part qualified in CIMA or ACCA

• Intermediate Excel skills

• Demonstration of strong personal drive

• Strong communicator on work progress and confidence to present analysis back to division

• Ability to drive projects forward against milestones

• Capability to work under pressure and closely with senior management
