Working as a crucial member of the finance team, maintaining the systems whilst also improving processes and being to first port of call for any technical fiance related issues.

The client is a leading charity in the UK which aims to help and improves the lives of those suffering with a serious health condition. The organisation is a community of people living with this condition, consisting of scientists, campaigners, volunteers and fundraisers.
Description
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning work to ensure we meet our deadlines.
- Focussing work to deliver the team's business plan and contribute to the achievement of our strategic aims and priorities.
- Contributing to a clear focus on driving improvements in quality, impact and performance
- Act as systems administrator for all finance software including Microsoft Dynamics, Nolans Branch Accounting along with other finance related software
- Set new users and delete old ones on both systems
- Offer technical assistance to MS Dynamics users
- Identify process improvements
- Liaise with software company
- Produce management reports from e-request
- First point of contact within the department for issues with financial systems software
- Look at existing processes with the team and suggest how technology could be used to speed up processes
- Provide assistance on Excel primarily to develop Excel skills within the department
- Ensure research expenditure is in line with terms and conditions of the grant award
- Update the detailed research database
- Reconcile the research accounts in the nominal ledger on a monthly basis
- Assist Finance Business Partnering section in relation to research on outstanding fund balances, management accounts, budgeting and forecasting issues.
Sort out income batching issues and maintain batch books. Assist with income suspense reconciliation
Raise sales invoices, maintain sales ledger and credit control
Contribute to the work of the broader team.
Monitoring performance information against objectives, outcomes and KPIs.
Taking corrective action in a timely manner when necessary
Profile
The succesfull candidate will have/be:
Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong IT and Systems knowledge and experience
Experience of using Dynamics GP - been involved in the development of the system in previous organisations they have worked in AND/OR
Can demonstrate considerable experience in developing other mid-range accounting systems
Advanced user of Excel and other Microsoft office products
Accounting reconciliations experience
Charity experience
Ability to manage change effectively.
