Description
- To take day to day responsibility for the bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients within the Media and Entertainment industry
- Handling all aspects of the portfolio's financial and personal affairs, as per the client's needs - providing support and advice with minimal input from Client Team Manager
- Assisting with the maintenance and review of accounting records raising issues to relevant Managers
- Raising sales invoices, considering the VAT position on international invoices
- Preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists for manager review and client approval - with minimal input from Client Team Manager required
- Confidently liaises directly with clients and suppliers in a timely and professional manner - demonstrating expert knowledge on their account and affairs
- Assisting with management reporting and annual accounting compliance by preparing accounts and reports such as tour reports comparing actual to budget, wealth statements
- Delegate to and oversee team members responsible for payments and data entry, assisting to manage their workload and ensure deadlines are met
- Providing guidance to junior members of the team and be available to answer queries
- Review the work of junior members of the team to aid their development
- General administration as per the requirements of the portfolio
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required
Profile
- ACCA qualified accountant
- To have trained with professional services
- Exceptional, effective and appropriate communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Have a passion for the music and entertainment sector
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and remain mindful of sensitive issues
- Excellent IT skills along with the ability to use software effectively
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent work ethic and desire to provide a superior client service, with an in-depth understanding of clients and their needs as well as the environment they operate in
- A solid team player with a strong ability to work in a team environment as well as being a self-starter with the ability to work well using own initiative
- Demonstrates high levels of commitment and flexibility, actively offering assistance to other colleagues and takes ownership for own tasks assigned
- Strong ability to cope in a fast paced environment, taking responsibility for own workload and working closely with manager and wider team / firm to deliver quality work to agreed, often tight, deadlines and timescales
- Takes responsibility for the quality and accuracy of others' work, with a clear understanding of what and when to flag issues or gather further information on queries from relevant colleagues
