Overall purpose of role

Initially on the project to deliver the expansion of the existing legal entity as part of Barclays response to the European referendum ("ERRP")

Performing a range of finance tasks which may include: reporting, planning business performance and analysis, cost management, acting as Finance Business Partner to business units, and consolidated reporting across BBIe

Provide accurate and insightful input to assist the decision making process

Support BBIe in delivering its financial commitments

Key Accountabilities

Management Reporting (70%)

  • Support key BBI Financial processes which may include reporting, planning, business performance and analytics, Outlook and the Planning cycle
  • Support the wider BBI strategy through insightful analysis and understanding of Commercial aspects
  • Design and produce MI (both ad hoc and BAU) to solve business needs
  • Support (as needed) ad hoc projects and longer-term programmes (e.g. structural reform) Analysis & Decision Support (20%)
  • Scenario modelling and forecasting of the financial performance of BBIe
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies by streamlining processes and reporting Controls & Other - 10%
  • Ensure strong control environment is in place
  • Early identification, communication and resolution or escalation of all control issues
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Maintain and operate fit for purpose systems and datasets for reporting, planning and analysis and alignment to common control data sets
  • Take responsibility for personal performance development, training and career development

  • Understanding of wider Commercial aspects

  • P&L and B/S analysis


Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in Financial Reporting, Control, Planning and/or Analytics
  • Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to summarise large amounts of data and present in a concise and readily understood format. Including the ability to communicate complex financial analysis to non-financial people
  • A solid and broad understanding of finance and banking
  • Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent relevant experience e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA
