The Financial Services Division (FSD) of Trinity College Dublin carries out the finance function of Trinity Development and Alumni (TDA) under a Service Level Agreement. The University is now seeking to recruit a professional and ambitious candidate for the post of Gifts Administration & Finance Officer to manage TDA’s substantial philanthropic donations and to proactively support the financial administration of the TDA.
This exciting position will work in TDA, as part of the recently formed Operations team, and collaborate with colleagues across TDA to deliver the University’s ambitions fundraising goals and alumni engagement programmes.
TDA has embarked on a period of growth which includes the implementation of a new Financial Information System as well as upgrading its CRM and as an integral part of the Operations Team there will be considerable scope for the right candidate to contribute positively as the Organisation evolves to meet the ambitious targets set by the University

1. Standard Duties and Responsibilities of the Post You will manage the administration of donor funds to the University ensuring that:
- all gifts are accurately recorded on the donor database, RaisersEdge;
- acknowledgement letters, tax receipts, payment requests are processed & issued in a timely manner and in accordance to the donor charter;
- liaise with the University to ensure that direct to Trinity gifts are captured and acknowledged;
- bank statements are reconciled to the donor database monthly;
- Gift reporting is standardised with reports generated when required.
2. You will liaise with fundraisers and other stakeholders - internal and external to the University - in relation to all aspects of TDA’s gifts administration.
3. You will coordinate the monthly credit card review, supplier payment runs, fortnightly casual payroll, and perform other duties to support the administration of operational expenditure.
4. You will be responsible for the administration of TDA ancillary entities (which include Trusts based in the US and UK) including preparation of year-end accounts.
5. You will prepare tax reclaim submissions to Irish Revenue and HMRC with the direction of the Finance Manager.
6. You will provide assistance with the allocation of donor funding to Schools/Departments/projects in the University, liaising with University staff as required.
7. You will assist in the preparation of TDA’s annual accounts and liaise with external auditors as requested.
8. You will work with the TDA teams in delivering the respective goals of the University.
You will undertake other duties as may be assigned by line manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Third-level qualification and/or qualified / part-qualified accountant.
Knowledge & Experience (Essential & Desirable)
1. Previous accounts experience in an accounts department of a similar sized organisation.
2. Exceptional numerical, analytical, oral and written communication skills with an eye for detail.
3. Diligent, highly organised with experience of structuring own workload, managing multiple projects, and adhering to agreed timelines.
4. Demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality support to internal and external stakeholders in customer service focused environment.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster good working relationships.
6. Motivated, flexible and ability to use own initiative in a fast paced professional environment.
7. Strong computer skills - MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel – e.g. charts, pivot tables etc.).
Desirable:
8. Knowledge of the Oracle Financial Information System and CRM databases.
Previous experience in the third-level sector and/or fundraising environment.
