Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. With a solid network of branches nationally, we service a multitude of customers, including mining, construction, quarry and forestry with quality equipment and after sales support.

The Role

HCA's Brisbane branch has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Sales team in the position of a Major Accounts Manager. This position has a core focus on developing construction equipment sales to construction and mining customers in Southeast Queensland, Mackay, Emerald and Townsville.

Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Managing an existing network of Major Account customers from the construction & mining sector, plus identify and develop previously untapped Major Account customers within the region
  • Working with the National Major Accounts Manager to develop positive and profitable relationships
  • Actively engaging and seeking out sales opportunities using current information to grasp every sales lead
  • Striving to achieve Total Customer Satisfaction in delivering Hitachi's reliable solutions through a mix of business development and account management strategies

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated high level sales management experience - previous employment in a similar position or industry is preferred.
  • Highly developed capacity to exercise judgement in problem resolution and discretion when dealing with sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Genuine desire to deliver Hitachi's Promise of Total Customer Satisfaction as you develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • A motivated and competitive drive to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Strategic and Analytical capability to assess and prepare valuable tenders
  • Confident, courteous and professional communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computing skills (Microsoft Office applications), and experience in using a CRM system
