Sewell Wallis are working with a highly desirable and successful business in Derbyshire who are looking to appoint a Divisional Compliance Coordinator.
This position provides support to the divisions various functions and local operating units in ensuring compliance with internal and external rules, regulations and other requirements.
This role will include travel to their European operations to assist them as required (initially up to 50% of time).

The role:-

- Developing guidelines, instructions and procedures to support policies and steering documents.
- Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of policies and procedures and associated controls.
- Supporting the development of key internal controls and associated monitoring programmes.
- Proactively identifying areas of risk and/or compliance failure.
- Maintaining organisational risk registers, including Criminal Finances Act and GDPR/DPA 2018.
- Assisting operating units across Europe in preparing a register of processing activities including documentation in accordance with GDPR/DPA 2018.
- Assisting with general data protection responsibilities, such as subject access requests.
- Preparing summaries of policy review changes for submission to the Board.
- Assisting functional leaders in maintaining records and preparing regular updates for European Office function.

The person:-

- Experience of documenting process flows using Microsoft Visio or other software.
- Experience of working in a pan-European Functional Organisation.
- Governance and Compliance:- Will have the knowledge of general governance and compliance, with specific experience of dealing with GDPR.
- Teamwork:- the gravitas to work at all levels with the ability to influence and drive new solutions, processes and procedures in conjunction with the management team and at the same time have a very hands-on approach.
- Results orientated:- Exhibits strong drive for results and success conveys a sense of urgency, with attention to detail and manages issues to closure gaining the necessary support required persists despite obstacles and opposition.
- Systems thinking:- The ability to organise and integrate data, ideas and/or concepts into a usable system that can be applied to solving problems. Brings order and discipline, sets an anchor or basis for action comfortable with technology.
- Flexible/adaptable:- Demonstrates the capacity to change able to successfully adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change happy to take responsibility within a global operation.
- Decision making and Problem solving:- Demonstrates the capacity to make successful, demanding and logical decision making and has the ability to have excellent problem solving concepts and skills.
