Country Risk Manager

My client one of the banks in Iraq is looking to hire a Country Risk Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

This is a country risk management role, directly responsible for developing a centre of excellence for Risk Management including Operational Risk, Credit Risk & Market Risk. The role requires a proactive and confident individual, with 10-15 years' experience in Risk Management in Banking, who can communicate and build strong relationships across the wider business.

Oversee and ensure the implementation of Operational & Fraud Risk Framework throughout the branch, ensuring alignment with the enterprise-wide Risk Management strategy, including articulation of the operational risk profile and risk appetite, and enabling improved decision-making that explicitly considers operational risk.

Monitor the adequacy and strength of the control environment throughout the branch and recommend management action to ensure the operational risk profile supports the achievement of business objectives and follow-up for implementation.

Provide guidance to the businesses throughout in the identification of key operational & Fraud risk exposures as well as the implementation of ORM tools within the group.

Experience:

Bachelor's Degree with 10-15 years of progressive Financial services experience out of which at least 8 years in Operational Risk Management, control or Compliance role.
