Tax Accountant

Description

Tax Accountant Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Finance Director and external advisor to ensure the group meets all direct and indirect tax compliance obligations.
• Manage tax authority enquiries and audits with the finance director
• Analysis of tax sensitive expenses within the profit and loss for inclusion in the tax computation
• Preparation of current and deferred tax accounting entries and related disclosures under IFRS.
• Preparation/maintenance of global transfer pricing documentation, calculating transfer pricing recharges and responding to business queries regarding TP flows
• Responsible for the preparation of the tax journals to be provided to finance
• Support Head of Tax in monitoring and advising on the impact of legislative changes, and responding to queries from the business
• Help to ensure business policies and processes keep pace with changes in operations and legislation from a direct and indirect tax perspective

Profile

Tax Accountant Requirements:

• Part qualified / finalist studier - ACCA/CIMA
• A broad understanding of Corporation Tax
• Experience of tax reporting under IFRS and/or UK GAAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to respect confidentiality and build / maintain good working relationships with colleagues, managers and directors.
• Exposure to international tax, VAT and employment taxes an advantage but not essential
• Attention to detail, logical and reasoned approach to problem solving with a can-do attitude
• Applicants must have a high degree of computer literacy, with strong Excel spread sheet skills.
