We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join our dynamic in-house tax team based in Maple Cross, Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in tax. We are looking for a Tax Accountant to join our Central Finance team in geographical location Maple Cross to support our Group Tax Manager in the running of the tax function to ensure that the UK group is tax compliant.

You will have a broad range of responsibilities:

  • Review the VAT returns for UK group - both monthly and quarterly

  • Provide VAT advice on a wide range of issues.

  • Preparation of Research and Development tax claim

  • Preparation of corporation tax returns for the more complex companies within the group and initial review of the simpler returns prepared by the tax assistant

  • Preparation of tax disclosures for inclusion in statutory accounts.

  • Assistance with transfer pricing documentation and compliance

  • Review SMART fuel system

  • Review PSA returns for the UK group

We're looking for:

  • ACA/ACCA

  • Newly CTA qualified is desirable

  • A levels or equivalent

  • Good knowledge of excel and word

  • Corporation tax and tax accounting experience

  • VAT and employer tax experience would be an advantage but is not essential
