Financial Accountant - German Market

The role: Taking the wheel at Hertz The Financial Accountant will manage the newly migrated functions in order to ensure accuracy and control and the smooth operation of the day to day functions of the General Accounting team in a fast paced changing environment in support of country Accounting Manager and Business Partner requirements Month End Reporting: To assist & support the month end close schedule in line with previously set deadlines and to ensure the financial results are correctly and accurately reported To maintain financial records in accordance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices) To prepare and enter journals into the Oracle financial system in line with accounting policies for various different processes Financial Statements/Tax: To assist in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements under German GAAP and respond to the requests of external auditors in an efficient and effective manner. (Balance sheet, statement of income and supporting documentation) To assist in the preparation for the finalisation of the corporation tax returns by ensuring that all information required to support the corporation tax return is gathered and documented within the set deadlines. Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations: In the official company format ensuring that any reconciling items/errors are identified and resolved as quickly as possible but no later than 90 days. Fixed Assets: To work closely with the General Accountants ensuring all asset additions are assigned to the correct category and cost center before being entered into Oracle Fixed Assets To ensure sufficient documentation exists to support the year end statutory audit and country specific reporting requirements To ensure any disposals, retirements and adjustments of fixed assets are recorded in accordance with the relevant accounting policies and that all necessary documentation is complete Analysis/review of all P&L accounts: As requested by management to support the month end process along with cost analysis and review To review open purchase order report: In line with procedure and communicate with the relevant Buyers to close all open aged POs Ability to resolve and respond to accounting queries: Received from internal and external customers in an efficient and timely manner thus ensuring service expectations are maintained / exceeded Any other ad-hoc requests from Management To uphold and embody the Hertz Mission, Vision and Values: In everyday dealings with Team Members and Customers, both Internal & External Your benefits: Fuelling your journey Relocation package and assistance from our cool relocation team Free on-site Doctor, Nurse and Physiotherapy services Pension scheme Discount on private health Insurance On-site Gym Subsidised staff restaurant Sports and Social Club Language classes Training and development programmes Incentives Staff Car Rental and Sales discount Free Parking Your skills: What you'll need for a great journey * Strong accounting skills - Preferably fully qualified accountant or at final stages of accounting qualification along with experience (ACCA, ACA) * Previous experience in Financial/Accounting environment essential * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office essential * Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate at all levels * Proactive, enthusiastic attitude to work and committed to continuous process improvement * Fluency in German (desirable) and English About us Hertz Global has an exciting portfolio of rental car brands - including Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty and Firefly, as well as Donlen.
