What you'll do:
  • Review, monitor, manage and/or develop the existing investments to increase return to or rationalise cost for OCBC Group of companies and business units;
  • Develop, identify and evaluate potential strategic investment or collaboration opportunities for the key countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and others) and key businesses (wealth management, corporate and consumer lending, insurance, fund management, etc);
  • Execute strategic transactions by working with internal (business units, functional units) and external parties (investment bankers, accountants, lawyers, valuers, etc)
  • Analyse the performances and strategies of leading local and international banks to identify competitive differentiation factors
  • Analyse the local and international financial industry trends and regulatory environment for developments which could impact OCBC Group including fintech sector

Qualifications
What you bring:
  • A good university degree preferably in the engineering, information technology or humanities disciplines with strong knowledge of the financial sector and financial statements;
  • Minimum 5 years working experience, preferably with regional exposure;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills in writing and presentation;
  • Self-driven and has initiative to test new grounds, with a keen sense to learn new things;
  • Always working within the boundaries of compliance;
  • Able to work independently whilst building tight relationships with other team members and working partners, both internally (finance, tax, compliance, legal, business units, etc) and externally (lawyers, accountants, valuers, etc);
  • Work experience in investment banking, M&A, private equity or corporate finance will be an advantage;
  • Engage and work with local stakeholders in the Chinese/Indonesian/Malaysian markets
