Payroll Assistant (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Brighton
Salary: £20k - £21,400k + benefit package
Hours: Mon-Fri 37 hours per week

I have great pleasure in recruiting for my highly reputable client for a Payroll Officer for a 12 month fixed term contract based in their finance department in Brighton.

Responsibilities:

* Processing payroll
* Process monthly claims and expenses
* Administer absence's, calculating SSP and sick pay entitlements
* Processing court orders and statutory payments, GAYE, maternity and childcare scheme deductions
* Run weekly and monthly reports
* Assist payroll manager with yearend reports, procedures and reconciliations (HMRC, Payroll/Pension Administrator
* Act as first point of contact for employees with pay queries
* Ensure payroll and pensions records are accurate and up to date

The right candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

* Proven payroll background
* A working knowledge of benefits and pensions
* Ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality
* Advanced Excel skills inclusive of pivot tables and vlookups
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines
* Great attention to detail
