Scope of the Role

To provide analytical insight and commercial guidance and challenge strategic decision making relating to both the sales & purchasing arenas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partner with sales and procurement
  • Build weekly KPI trackers and provide weekly business performance reporting to the Fresh Direct UK Director of Sales and account managers
  • Ensure that all regular reporting is relevant, accurate, insightful, consistent and timely
  • Assist in identifying trends, risks and opportunities in sales and margin trends, ensuring that customer patterns, credit note trends, rebates etc. are fully understood
  • Provide impactful analysis on sales and margins including LFL trading and provide insights on market trends
  • Provide day to day collaborative analytical support to the sales teams as required to ensure all targets and objectives are met or exceeded
  • Provide customer and supplier profitability analysis and customer profiling
  • Update and prepare financial models to support the tendering process for both new and existing clients
  • Assist Commercial Finance Manager in commercial bids and add value through developing insights on new win sweet spots, product and customer opportunities to drive ongoing improvement in win rates
  • Assist in month end with preparation of the key month end reports including MPR packs with relevant insightful commentary
  • Assist with preparation of annual Sales & Margin budgets/forecasts including detailed analysis throughout the process


Key Attributes

  • Part Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Confident, resilient, independently driven and engaging individual
  • Highly analytical with ability to make sense of large volumes of data
  • A self-starter with strong intellectual curiosity
  • Able to work well with other function in the business
  • Enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload independently and decisively
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
