House hold name and leading outdoor retail company based on outskirts of Milton Keynes. Growth within the UK market has created the opportunity for a progressive Accounts Assistant to join the team. The business are currently in the process of expanding their operations abroad, meaning this is an exciting time to join the business.

Description

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:

• Sales Ledger: raising invoices and credit notes, liaising with Sales Departments to ensure necessary order paperwork is complete
• Liaising and working with regional offices for payments and transfers
• Bank receipts and payments postings
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Purchase Ledger: processing invoices/credits by coding and posting, communication with suppliers, preparing payment runs
• Assist with month-end close including prepayments and accruals
• Provide assistance where necessary throughout the accounts department and participate in any ad-hoc projects as and when required.

Profile

Accounts Assistant Requirements:

• Previous experience of working in Accounts and demonstrate good working knowledge of AR and AP processes.
• Working within a retail business would be beneficial
• Looking to work towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA) will also be considered.
• Work on own initiative and well-organised
• Have a good level of written and oral communication skills
• Possess intermediate excel skill - advanced excel desirable
• Highly numerate with good attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Good IT knowledge will be required
