Financial Accountant

Kier Workplace Services (KWS) are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to be based in our office in Basingstoke.

The role involves assisting with the preparation of financial reports to help improve efficiency and transparency throughout the business as well as to accurately show the performance of the business.

The successful candidate will support the wider finance team in ensuring compliance and governance across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

* Reporting: Leading/Supporting as required the FM wide cash forecasts & working Capital (Work in Progress and Debt) reporting in line with the local and Kier group requirements. Ensure key risks are highlighted and opportunities maximized across the division.
* Working capital improvement: Leading/Supporting as required the business in working capital improvement activities. Using business knowledge and overview gained in central role to drive best practice.
* Relationships: build relationship with FSSC Treasury and Kier group to ensure mutual understanding of all requirements and compliance to all corporate deadlines with meaningful and insightful reporting.
* Quarterly Review: Leading/Supporting consolidation and analysis of the QR including liaising with the commercial finance and operation teams to provide meaningful variance analysis and drive the business to achieve its strategic objectives
* Monthly Reporting: Support the financial controller and Finance Business partner manage in the consolidation and analysis of the monthly results. Including insightful commentary and delivering all Kier corporate requirements.
* Overheads: Full ownership and financial management of the overheads.
* Ad-hoc: To provide wider finance team with financial and operational information on an ad hoc basis to support operational decision.
* BI and Management Information: Lead on the system and process improvements needed in KWS to improve the quality and accuracy of management information and business performance reporting.
* Support the Finance Director in KWS wider central activities at key times: e.g. Support the intercompany agreements for FM.
* Business improvement: Support to finance business partners on improving the quality of all project accounting, end of life forecasting and commercial support to operations. Ensure a culture of continuous improvement is embedded within the business, challenging and defining new processes to make things more effective and efficient
* KWS level disputes and Claims: Support the FC, Finance Business partner and wider teams on ad-hoc commercial claims and disputes.
* Special Projects: Support/Lead projects at the request of the financial controller in support of urgent business needs. This will include periods of financial support of major contracts or bids, poor performing contract reviews and supporting development of Business Development plans.
Key Skills and Qualifications

* Qualified Accountant with experience of Industry and Kier preferred
* Knowledge of FTE listed business governance and reporting
* IFRS knowledge and awareness
* Strong presentation skills – ability to tailor reporting to the audience and present complex finance data at Board level. Experience of presenting at board level.
* Must have the ability to work with incomplete data to make informed decisions
* Analytical skills to turn ‘data’ into ‘information’.
