Essential Functions and Responsibilities The Accountant prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Calculates and processes various journal entries and reconciles several general ledger accounts. Helps with quarterly and annual accounting reports. Prepare and analyze monthly GAAP financial reports. Respond to owners, investors, and agency inquiries and requests as required. Help with year-end closings which include preparation of annual financial statement packages for outside CPA’s and posting audit adjustments. Assist with monthly mortgage processing. Complete and approve monthly bank account reconciliations. Reconcile several general ledger accounts. Calculate and process various journal entries. Assist with calculating management fees to charge clients. Assist with quarterly and annual accounting reports to owners, investors, and regulators. Assist with year-end audit preparation. Assist with 1099, unclaimed funds, & personal property tax returns. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting with two (2) years practical accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MS Office and 10 key skills. Sage 100 knowledge a plus.
