Director, Finance and Investment Accounting
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage company accounts and financial statements (Cayman Island and Hong Kong), perform account closing, bank reconciliation, and independently support company account audits.
- Financial accounting and management: sensitive to numbers and trends; prepare financial analysis to support senior management on business planning, strategic decision-making, budgetting and allocation, tax planning, corporate governance, and cash/liquidity management
- Conduct regular finance performance reviews and develop relevant financial reporting (actual vs. budgets, targets and/or forecasts)
- Initiate and implement appropriate financial control policies and procedures, internal controls and standards, and regularly review and adjust in accordance to business dynamics
- Corporate Treasury: including but not limited to payroll and expense, maintenance of MPF and incentive scheme, etc.
- Investment Accounting and trade support: Perform daily reconciliation (portfolio holdings, cash balance, accruals, etc.) and prepare daily NAV calculation, month-end closing and trial balance reconciliation. Compile investment P&L reports; follow through and resolve any discrepancies with Service Providers. Develop / maintain / update valuation policies for the products the Company manages.
- Independently prepare relevant materials and manage audit for the investment products the Company manages.
- Support relevant regulatory filings with SFC, SEC, FATCA, FINRA, CIMA, CSRC, etc.
- Develop and manage external relationships such as external auditor, tax advisor, internal control advisor, relevant regulators.
Requirements:
- Degree in accounting and qualified accountant
- Experience in asset management or financial institutions is a MUST. At least 8 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, corporate treasury, financial control and management reporting, particularly with strong background in Fund Accounting (fund accounting, ).
- Sound knowledge of the asset management industry practices and requirements, in particular HKFRS, USGAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements by CIMA, CSRC, SEC, SFC, SAFE. Experience in QFII, RQFII, QDIE, Stock Connect product PRC audit and related accounting/tax treatment, and quota management and foreign exchange remittance process will be a big plus
- High ethical and professional standard
- Familiarity with systems such as Bloomberg OMS, Geneva PMS, Factset, OMGEO trade matching system, and industry prevailing accounting systems
- Energetic, self-teaching enthusiastic, and excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work on multiple deliverables concurrently
- Self-starter, capable to establish and design policies and procedures over time
- Auditing experience is desirable
- Good writing and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
