Description Summary of Position Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of project accounting prepared and reports financials in compliance with US GAAP and Corporate Policy. Ensures Balance Sheet accounts under responsibility are analyzed and supported in monthly bases. Provides Analysis on P/L performance with proper commentary for management reviews. Supports the PASS Controller and the Americas Region leadership team to prepare budgets, forecasts and to achieve the overall goals of the Business Unit and business financial decisions are well grounded. Primary Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of the Inventory accounting including RM/WIP and FG, reserves, physical inventories, etc. Ensure a detail review to validate the inventory is good in all locations in PASS books including Cortland and Westborough. Some travel to verify physically needed. Maintains a high-level operational understanding of the value streams of customers and PASS sites and the financial components of the value streams (Volume, overhead cost, labor cost, standards, yields, productivity, etc.) Ensure accuracy of project accounting including cost analysis, revenue recognition and profitability of each project. Responsible for Liability type accounts such as Warranty, Bonus, Payroll Accruals and PASS controlled A/P accruals Calculate SIP and Internal Sales Commissions on a quarterly basis Perform Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation and analysis on accounts under the responsibility and prepare Journal Entries as needed to ensure correct balances. Provide monthly financial reporting as required. Responsibility to ensure compliance with US GAAP and Corporate Finance Policies Support the External and Internal Financial and SOX audits. Work directly with the auditors. Perform other analysis and work as requested by the PASS controller. Responsible for sales contract review for proper determination of the timing of revenue recognition. Work with value streams on SAP input to reflect proper timing. Knowledge of best practices and principles for optimum analytics and financial consulting to the business Understands and leads valuations for Return on Investment (ROI) for highly technical product areas and company infrastructure. Has strength of convictions and ability to present facts and data in a compelling argument for business or accounting position discussions with the most senior leaders Pushes the thinking of business partners to exceed business financial goals Strong analytical skills. Listen and ask questions to get to the root cause of a problem. Negotiate and obtain consensus for solutions. Planning, coordination, and organization of the work. Work in a high matrix environment at all levels. Identify, understand and monitor key business drivers and drive for improvements. Coordinates with PASS Controller, Corporate FP&A/LOB and CO COE and key plant contacts in the preparation of the annual budget process for BU and Mfg. site including as well as analysis key value drivers and variances. Provides forecasting and supporting analytical review as part of the CVD/KPI meetings with BU Finance Leader, BU President, and Regional Management Team. Responsible for the preparation and documentation of financial and trends analyses, root cause analysis to support the business. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Accounting 7 years of Accounting experience 3 years of advanced Microsoft Suite products and PowerPoint 7 years of knowledge of financial and management accounting principles 7 years of working knowledge of GAAP and SOX requirements 7 years experience of management accounting within a manufacturing environment, and familiarity with controlling and costing concepts Preferred Qualifications MBA Degree in Finance/Accounting Professional accounting Certifications CPA, CMA, CIA or ACCA Knowledge of SAP preferred particularly in Project Systems and FI/CO functionality The above describes the essential content of and requirements for proficient performance in the position and is not meant to be all-inclusive.
