Under the direction of the Business Manager you will assist in the provision of a comprehensive financial support service by undertaking a range of financial, administrative and clerical support functions.

Responsibilities:
- To assist with the operation and maintenance of the manual and computerised financial control and information systems, updating financial records and assisting in the production of financial information and reports for the Business Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
- To undertake basic analysis of financial information, using computer spreadsheets if necessary, as required by the School Business Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Trust.
- To undertake routine accounting operations including receiving and processing orders, checking and processing invoices and requests for payment, raising cheques for suppliers and maintaining and balancing petty cash accounts and purchase card.
- To assist with the administration of bank accounts, recording and balancing monies for banking, maintaining records and checking statements.
- To respond to account queries from staff and suppliers, resolving problems and using discretion in referring issues to the Business Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
- To undertake any administrative and general office duties, including filing, photocopying, maintenance of both paper and electronic filing and record systems and other administrative support to assist in the efficient operation of the school.
Essential:
- Excellent ICT skills including Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets.
- Good general level of education including 5 GCSEs, including those in English Language and Mathematics.
Desirable
- Experience of using SIMS.net or equivalent system
- Experience as an accounting technician or relevant experience in a financial environment in local government
Personal qualities:
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and ICT skills, including databases and spreadsheets, as well as being numerate.
- Good organisational skills; efficiency, willingness and ability to work flexibly within the support staff team
