Are you available immediately or at short notice for a permanent Management Accountant role? My client is one of York's premier employers with a large finance department and due to continued YOY year growth and their acquisitive nature, they require an experienced Management Accountant to join the team.

Salary on offer is up to £37k (there may be some manoeuvre for an outstanding candidate) plus an attractive benefits package and free on-site parking.

Overview of Role:

• Assisting the Regional Financial Controller with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including both Profit and Loss analysis and maintaining Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Creation, analysis and posting journals of accruals, prepayments, sales, rebates, payroll and petty cash
• Reconciling inter-company transactions
• Developing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations to cover all balance sheet codes, with back up documentation for review
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, raising depreciation journals and posting
• Producing of monthly financial information including profit and loss reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuringthat these are prepared to a high standard and any risks are identified for line manager review
• Monthly VAT validation, quarterly returns and reconciliations
• Setting up and maintaining branch accounting
• Preparation of the aged debtor report
• Reconciling the daily/weekly practice cash/cheques/credit card/direct credits control sheets
• Performing the creditors ledger review & resolution of aged items and debit balances
• UK National Statistics forms (monthly, quarterly and annually)
• Stock counts and analysis of results
• Possible supervision and review the performance of team members. Review of the team’s management accounts, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations

• Part Qualified/Qualified in ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Good working knowledge of Sage 50 / Sage 200
• Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels
