An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Management Accountant, initially on a part time basis (4 days per week) with the potential to grow to full time, paying up to £250 per day. Key Responsibilities will encompass:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, with budget analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Analysis, Territory P&L reporting)
  • Production of weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Monitoring and reporting on cashflow and working capital (weekly statement of cash/creditors/debtors)
  • Managing stock control process; Reconciling stock balances and valuations (raw materials & finished goods)
  • Accurate calculation of monthly Cost of Goods sold across all cost centres and product categories
  • Input into quarterly reforecasting and annual budgeting process (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash)
  • Regular analysis of marketing and other costs by territory and by product variant
  • Improvement input into the quality of reporting (using Sage and Excel)
  • Maintaining an accurate & appropriate control environment
  • Contributing to the improvement of controls and procedures (ensuring these are documented)
  • Overseeing debtor control and supplier payments process
  • Input into a range of non-financial tasks, including Health & Safety compliance, IT systems development, HR
  • The role is within a small team so there are no direct reports. However, as the most senior team member reporting to the FD, the Management Accountant will help support & guide more junior members of the team

About you:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent; including recently qualified)
  • Thorough understanding of management information systems
  • Previous experience with Sage50 and Excel integrated reporting preferred
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills (a short test at interview stage will be conducted)
  • Previous experience in a brand/product environment will be advantageous but not essential
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to successfully communicate with people at all levels, and all business functions
  • Committed, self-reliant, hard-working, diligent, precise, accurate, personable

General Information:

  • Interim position initially 3-6 months, 4-5-days per week, MUST be able to work Fridays
  • Interviews will be held in week commencing 27th August and 3rd September with a start date of September 10th
  • Reports directly to Finance Director
  • Key relationships with the following: Bookkeeper, Logistics Manager, Brand/Country Managers (in market), External customers and suppliers, Auditors/Payroll service providers/other professionals
