Their convening power attracts world leaders and the best analysts in their respective fields from across the globe.This Role:This is business facing and you will need to be comfortable in explaining and discussing financial information with non-finance members of staff. It is a key position within a small Finance team and will provide exposure for you across the organisation. The role reports to the Financial Controller, and sits within a Finance team of five. * Financial Accounts and Reporting; Take responsibility for the monitoring and handling of bank accounts and cashbook to ensure all income is accurately posted* Complete sales/income cashbook postings and ensure all payments are posted on the system* Advise on and handle all VAT matters including VAT returns, ECSL returns, MOSS returns, monthly reverse-charge VAT accounting entries, and partial exemption calculations, and acquire expertise in this area to act as the organisation's key VAT contact for the research departments* Business Partnering, Sales invoices and Credit Control; Raising and posting of sales invoices, including determining correct VAT treatment, and managing funder's vendor systems (where appropriate). * Reconcile sales ledgers at month-end and distribute sales ledger reports, Liaison with research and non-research staff to chase outstanding debtors* Assist the Senior Management Accountant in setting up research projects, including determining their VAT treatment* Financial Analysis and Special Projects; Provide financial analysis and other support as required by Financial Controller and Finance Director* Special projects, such as the annual IRS return, income and funding analyses, financial reports, and any other ad-hoc work as directed by the Financial ControllerPersonal Specification* ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified accountant* Experience of engaging with various partners* Leading and working within small teams to meet tight deadlines* An enthusiastic, self-motivating approach to work, with a collegiate, collaborative and consistent attitude* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, in person, in writing, and over the telephone with individuals, and with both financial and non-financial staff* Flexible and able to work effectively with dynamic and changing situations, individuals or groups
