As one of the UK’s largest and fast growing manufactures and wholesalers of office furniture we have exciting opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the business on a permanent basis.


  • To provide support to the Purchase Ledger Supervisor to administer the purchase ledger
  • To match and post supplier invoices onto relevant systems
  • Maintaining the creditors ledger, allocating payments and reconciling suppliers statements
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
  • Dealing with incoming invoices and payment queries
  • Point of contact for purchase ledger queries, investigating and raising supplier issues
  • Escalating purchase ledger queries if unable to resolve
  • Ensuring that financial procedures with regard to authorisation and payments are adhered to
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with other departments, senior members of the organisation, customers and suppliers
  • Dealing with supplier phone calls, chasing for payments and resolving queries / issues
  • To maintain the highest standards of quality within the department


  • Demonstrable evidence of previous administration roles (essential)
  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger function (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills
  • Good IT skills using all Microsoft packages
  • An ability to work and learn in a fast moving and changing environment
  • Methodical and organised in approaching varying workloads
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm (Monday - Friday)
