Assistant Pensions Manager

The Staff Pensions team look after three Staff Pension Schemes – covering both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution benefits – from the management of our Trustee boards, to implementation of investment decisions, to communication with our members, to managing £1m+ administration contracts to ensuring compliance across the schemes on all aspects of regulation and governance.
As Assistant Pensions Manager you will facilitate the Trustee Boards on decision making – managing advisers and 3rd party providers, implementing Board decisions and being a key point of contact on member benefits. Our customers include all Group Companies in the UK, current employees, past employees (deferred members) and pensioners. We have approx 50,000 members across the schemes and over £9billion in assets.
You will lead on trustee board support and act as secretary to the trustees. You will review and control the administrative quality at a member and scheme level, as well as being able to deal with board members on requirements for Trustee decision making.
You will have:
Experience of managing, or supporting the management of, trust based pension schemes
Excellent knowledge of pensions regulatory and legislative frameworks
In-depth experience of complex relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to pro-actively lead and manage expectations and ensure visibility of delivery issues and barriers
In-depth knowledge of pensions legislation
In-depth knowledge of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution occupational pension schemes
