My client is growing construction type of sector business, based in East London. Due to a staff member leaving, the business currently have an urgent requirement for a permanent member of staff within their accounts team. The role would be perfect for someone looking to join a busy work environment.
What to expect in the role?
The role would be reporting directly to the Financial Manager in an Assistant Finance Manager capacity.
Duties will include:
• Assisting with and taking responsibility of all aspects of accounting
• Assisting to produce monthly P&L and balance sheets
• Provide financial reports to the manager
• Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare VAT returns
• Update company assets records in a timely manner
• Providing financial analysis required by senior management to make business decisions
• Monitor and review cash flow daily
• Provide assistance to senior management for year-end financial reporting, statutory audit and meeting deadlines as required.
• Management of Purchase Ledger and Credit Control
• Review and approve monthly reconciliations prepared by accounts team, review aged debtors and aged creditor reports and ensure any outstanding issues are resolved
• Ad hoc requests as and when required
What are the expectations of you?
You will have a minimum of 3 years working in a Management Accountant or Assistant Finance Manager role. You will be able to carry out the above tasks without supervision and preferably have experience working in a similar role, ideally within the construction sector. You will have a strong command of SAGE 50, Excel and other Microsoft packages.
Due to the nature of the business you will be expected to assist the rest of the office with other duties as and when required.
