Description

As a Financial Accountant based from the Woking Surrey office you will on a day to day basis be responsible for general ledger transactions, for designated companies, within the UK financial shared services remit. This will include being involved in the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT, tax returns and monthly reporting. This will also include all general ledger journals, accruals, fixed asset register and other adjustments.

Finance Policy and Controls

*Ensure compliance with the company accounting policies, as well as compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.

*Assist internal and external audits including the preparation of audit schedules and auditor requests.

*Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.

Financial Operations and Shared Services

*Ensure efficient and effective processing of general ledger transactions for the UK.

*Support implementation of enabling technologies (SAP, JDE, HFM, Concur, e-requisition, e-payables) within the UK.

*Work with regional treasury team to ensure appropriate funding of legal entities through forecast and management of cash flows and banking relationships in region. Enable local banking products and services to support business activities and oversee activities in local bank accounts.

Business Optimization / Insights

*Review of existing processes, structures, and systems with a focus on simplifying and standardization.

*Maintain a strong focus on execution and delivery of short term results whilst moving towards the long term vision.

*Involvement in the transition of new processes and process improvements with internal customers.

*Drive standardization and scalability of the UK FSSC general ledger organization.

Business Excellence

*Implement and drive consistency, efficiency, integration and communication of accounting policies, procedures, and processes.

*Assist in driving alignment, integration, and optimization among all IT platforms.

*Ensure compliance with US GAAP and all local tax and statutory reporting requirements

*Manage month-end activity in the shared services environment.

Profile

  • Part Qualified but Qualified by experience also considered
  • Some shared services centre experience preferred but not essential
  • Work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Some experience with ERP systems, SAP/JDE experience preferable not essential
  • "Roll up your sleeves" and can-do attitude, energetic, forward-thinker with strong ability to multi-task.
  • Strong financial, IT and analytical skills coupled with operational focus.

Job Offer
