Your analytical skills can help us keep the country safe

Tackling terrorism means keeping up with a fast–evolving threat. At our National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (NCTPHQ), we're constantly adapting our approach to ensure it's fit for the challenge. As a Business Analyst, you'll be at the very heart of what we do, shaping the way our Counter Terrorism (CT) network operates. It's fascinating work – and who knows? – it could save lives in the future.

The NCTPHQ supports the entire UK CT policing network. The Change pillar oversees complex changes within NCTPHQ that determine the way CT works. You'll be based in this area, within the Strategic Design Authority (SDA) – a newly created unit. Here, you'll analyse the CT network and create high–level designs that shape its structure and operations. All design documents must have quality assurance and adhere to best practice. You'll also provide the rest of the network with expert advice on business analysis methods.

This is a chance to have a direct impact on the way we tackle terrorism. You must therefore be an experienced Business Analyst with broad–ranging expertise. We'll expect you to be comfortable using formal methodologies and developing business operating models. You should also be ready to review business cases and support projects through their lifecycle development. On top of your technical skills, you'll need a gift for relationship management. Your success depends on managing a number of key stakeholders.

Join us and you can influence the development of the SDA and take your career forward too.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role specific information pack and complete the online application form. You will also be required to submit an up to date CV and a personal statement.

Completed applications must be returned by 23.55pm on Tuesday 28th August.

Failure to submit all the required documents will result in your application being terminated.

Vetting and STRAP

This post will require you to hold National Security Vetting (NSV) at either Security Check (SC).

The post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Security Check (SC) before taking up the post. Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today's complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London's communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
