Interim Accountant

* Standard working week 39 hours

* GBP16–17 per hour

* Hours: 8am until 4:30pm Mon – Thurs 8am – 3:30pm Friday

* Holidays: 23 days per year plus 8 bank holidays

Our client, a prestigious manufacturing business located in Oxfordshire are currently seeking an interim accountant (1 year minimum contract) to join their business. There would be a possibility of this job turning into a full time role after the initial interim assignment is completed.

* To provide Management with accurate and timely reports analysing actual results with comparatives to forecasts and budgets.

* To provide financial stewardship in monitoring and the measurement of financial controls alerting Management of adverse situations / risks.

* To maintain the integrity of the Standard & Current cost databases.

* To explain and provide management with effective and appropriate variance reports.

* To assist Operations in ensuring optimal Inventory levels are held

. Key Responsibilities

* To facilitate the annual Budget process relating to Operational expenses, Cost Reduction Capital requirements and Inventory levels.

* To develop and maintain a 12 month rolling Inventory forecast and report upon variances arising.

* To ensure Standards & Current costs accurately reflect the "true" cost of manufacture / acquisition at the date of the Standards Revision & current day.

* To report and analyze Sales margins measured against standard & current costs alerting management and appropriate staff of actual & potential risks.

* To collate and report upon trends in individual Item costs and Product groups and the effect thereof.

* To publish relevant daily/weekly/monthly etc KPI's with appropriate commentary.

* To provide periodic reports designed to drive productivity and efficiency improvements.

* To ensure accurate reporting of Operational costs and support managers in adhering to budgets and forecasts with regular reviews.

* To ensure the integrity of the monthly income statement is upheld providing explanations to variances relating to Operational costs where required.

* To develop, roll out and manage reports to assist Operations in reducing costs and Inventory levels.

* Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested


Qualified accountant

Manufacturing experience

Standard costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting and internal control experience

Excellent excel skills

Strong analytical skills
