Senior Financial Accountant

Our client, a major shipping company, is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant.

Being in the company headquarters, you will be in accountable for all accounting, financial reporting, compliance and analysis within the structure.

More specifically the successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Preparing the monthly consolidated management accounts and providing commentaries to management;
- Managing the team of Accountants;
- Producing the annual consolidated financial statements;
- Liaising with external auditors and preparation of audit support schedules and working papers;
- Researching technical accounting issues and preparation of accounting memos for non-routine commercial transactions;
- Monitor compliance with local fiscal and statutory requirements
- Support the Regional Tax Manager
- Ensure transfer pricing documentation is in line with local regulatory requirements
- Be the number one point of contact for banks
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as may be required by the management

Requirements

- Chartered accountant with minimum 7 years post qualification experience
- Solid knowledge of the shipping industry
- Preparation and review of audited Financial statements
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Personal drive to succeed and an ability to adapt to changing demands and prioritise tasks effectively so as to meet the goals of the finance department within agreed deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of managing a team, supporting colleagues and developing good working relationships
