Job Description: At Regions, the Audit Data Analytics Associate will develop data analytics and business intelligence to automate control testing and assist continuous risk assessment to support internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Regions Internal Audit Data Analytics team currently works with all internal audit teams who audit all business groups at Regions. As an Audit Data Analytics Associate, you will collaborate with Internal Auditors and other Data Analytics team members to create innovative solutions to support audit conclusions and risk assessments at enterprise and auditable unit level. Primary Responsibilities Partners with audit teams and other data analytics team members to create data analytics that support audit engagement objectives and help solve business problems Analyzes data trends and/or anomalies to support audit conclusions; assists as needed to ensure these results are fully supported in the workpapers Uses data to identify process improvements for the business based on collaboration with audit team Developing ability to coach internal audit staff or junior data analysts throughout the audit engagement to ensure analytics are leveraged optimally and appropriately Leverages data analytics to help size audit issues as appropriate Leverages analytics to test validity of management remediation activities as directed by supervisor or requested by audit team Partners with audit teams to create analytics to assist in continuous risk assessment and monitoring (e.g., trends/anomalies that indicate changes in risk profiles or exceptions to normal processes) With supervision, partners with audit teams to validate the use of predictive analytics within business units being audited and/or use predictive analytics to inform risk assessments and audit scope This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. Requirements Bachelors degree Four (4) years experience in data analytics Preferences Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, MIS, Computer Science or related field Professional certification or progression towards one (preferably SAS Certification) Skills and Competencies Demonstrated efficiency and effectiveness of managing their own time Identify the level, timing, and type of communications for the intended audience Active listening skills and ability to ask questions as required to validate understanding Demonstrated competence and confidence in verbal communications Understanding of predictive analytics Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely Ability to organize ideas logically to achieve the objectives of the written communication Strong relationship building skills with both internal/external stakeholders through effective communication Proficient at 2 programming languages out of SAS, SQL, Python, R, and/or JAVA Experience with visual analytics tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI Experience in data mining, cleaning, and business intelligence Location:Birmingham, Alabama EEO/AA/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans SDL2017
