As Finance Business Accountant/Manager you will be responsible for managing and supporting a team, instigating a culture of continuous process improvement to drive through change. You will also be responsible for accounting process, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. You will act as a business partner with the operational finance teams.

Description

The successful Finance Business Accountant/Manager will be responsible for:

  • Accounting process responsibility and ownership of the ledger books and reconciliations for assets,

    liabilities, costs and revenues associated with fixed assets, leased assets and minerals

  • Manage and develop a team to deliver period close, transactions and reconciliations to deadline and related KPIs

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and Sarbanes Oxley (SOx)

  • Instigate a culture of continuous process improvement (CPI) to drive through change

  • Act as a business partner with the operational finance teams as well as liaison with internal and external auditors

Profile

The successful Finance Business Accountant/Manager will:

  • Hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Have a proven track record of managing a team, including 1-2-1, personal development programmes etc.
  • Working knowledge of internal controls (SOX)
  • Ability to improve compliance and governance across organisation
  • Good knowledge of accounting and financial systems - including fixed asset processes
  • Can demonstrate and appreciate rigour in reference to journals and balance sheet controls
  • Effective time management of self, direct reports and indirect reports
  • SAP is desirable
  • Effective communication - with experience of building strong stakeholder relationships across the function and organisation
  • Works well under pressure with a proven track record of working to tight time lines
