Group Data Validation Specialist , Group Risk Management
The role is expected to work with a specialised team to design and implement an enterprise-wide Compliance Certification Methodology. The role reports to the Group Head of Data Validation and the main responsibilities of GDV Specialist are managing the validation workflow and directing validation testing activities.
The GDV Specialist will perform tracking of outstanding issues and remediation of associated actions, and will also be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining an evidence based management system for the management of fieldwork materials. The primary purpose of Group Data Validation is to certify that OCBC meets the full scope of BCBS 239 requirements. BCBS 239 principles aim to ensure the Risk Aggregation and Risk Reporting practices of the bank are effective in leveraging data as an enterprise asset to support its strategic decision-making and actions.
The function includes the following responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a testing repository covering all aspects of BCBS 239 compliance
- Execute a schedule of compliance tests, facilitate testing, review and challenge results
- Produce professional and reliable status reports of compliance for Senior Management, Board Committee's and/or Regulatory consumption
- Escalate and report ongoing status of compliance including monitoring the aging and remediation of gaps
- Create a system of validation records and evidence that is robust, auditable and efficient
In addition this role will:
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of BCBS 239 requirements and awareness of industry level best practice and direction
- Ensure validation testing is completed and timely delivery of reports, escalations and challenges
- Improve efficiency of Data Validation process by leveraging existing assessments and oversight activities
- Perform a robust challenge of testing evidence to ensure a reliable validation can be performed
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of related working experience in the areas of Data, control or risk management
- Experience in data-related control, governance and management is a bonus
- General appreciation of data management principles, as well as commercial banking products
- Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent Operational Risk process and control design mind-set
