Manager

Michael Page has been exclusively engaged on this Financial Accounting Manager role in Nottinghamshire ideal for a first or second time mover from practice looking to obtain broad experience in a high-growth business.

Client Details

My client is a listed organisation based north of Nottinghamshire. The business offers a B2B service with a broad mix of diverse clients across multiple sectors. The organisation has seen a rapid organic growth in the last three years and is looking to expand further with a particular focus on acquisitions.

This role has been created to free up the Finance Director to deliver on the strategic plan by taking accountability on the financial and statutory process (including year-end) and some of the key and complex projects that will aid business growth.

Description

The Financial Accounting Manager will partner with the Financial Controller to support the Finance Director and board in understanding and having complete clarity on the financial performance and regulatory requirements.

Unlike other financial reporting roles, whilst this will be accountable for year-end stats, tax and treasury, this role will have an exciting added element of project work which could include:

  • Systems development work
  • Process improvement
  • Acquisition due diligence and integration work
  • Commercial price interrogation

Profile

As this role will act as the financial specialist for the business within a listed environment, the ideal candidate will be up-to-date with the changes in IFRS and be able to present clearly and confidently to the board and to the banks and auditors on financial performance.

The expectation is that the ideal candidate will:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified with a grounding in an accounts practice
  • Have a pro-active mind-set and look to find a solution rather than seeing a problem
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Want to challenge themselves in a progressive and forward-thinking business

Job Offer

This will be the succession plan for the Financial Director within 5 years and give a broad level of exposure to all areas of finance. This is a really exciting time to join the business and offers a unique career opportunity.

£50,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) + flexible benefits.
