About the role: We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our small, highly experienced tax team based in our Brisbane head office. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Tax Compliance Australia, you will be responsible for preparing income tax returns and tax accounting calculations for Australian entities. Peabody Australia has a significant number of entities which makes it a challenging tax environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve substantial liaison with key stakeholders in the Brisbane and regional mine site offices in the course of attending to the preparation of returns and periodic tax calculations and reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role offers an opportunity to be part of a small team of highly experienced tax professionals who are committed to maintaining high standards of technical expertise. Duties will include: Preparation of internal monthly and annual tax effect accounting calculations Preparation of income tax returns, including thin capitalisation and International Disclosure Schedule for Australian tax groups Preparation of periodic PAYG actual and forecast calculations Preparation of USGAAP and AIFRS tax provision calculations Provision of ad hoc tax advice to internal stakeholders The lifestyle: This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis working from our Brisbane office. Peabody has recently introduced a number of flexible working arrangements, including flexible start / finish times and midday finish on Friday's during summer months.
