The Legal Cashier position will report into the Senior Partner and also support the Practice Manager, the individual will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day cashiering function within the firm along with maintaining the credit control process.

The client is a well established local law firm based in Haywards Heath looking to expand.
Description
Dealing with office and client monies in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts Rules
Checking and recording incoming bills
Approving and finalising outgoing invoices
Entering all necessary accounts into the Firm`s case management software (LEAP)
Checking and approving banking
Understanding client ledgers
Entering and preparing electronic payments
Bank reconciliations
Dealing with banking, petty cash and producing cheques
Taking card payments via telephone or in person
Dealing with queries from across the firm
Maintaining a disciplined credit control process
Ensuring compliance
Supporting fee earners and management through the provision of financial reports
Overseeing and assisting with our file closing procedure.
Profile
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Mathematically competent
Previous relevant experience in a Law firm essential
Flexible, willing to do whatever is needed when it is needed
Happy to work independently
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word and Outlook, in particular)
Experience working with LEAP highly desirable but training provided as necessary
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Tidy, organised, good typing and general office skills
IT literate
Ability to work autonomously
Job Offer
Up to £28,000 based on experience
