The role as Group Financial Accountant will encompass a large range of skills and projects, the successful candidate will be newly ACA or ACCA qualified ideally with 1 year post qualified experience.

Client Details

Our client are a global pharmaceuticals company and operate across 8 countries. The business is going through a number of exciting changes at present with strong organic growth in both Bespak and Aesica, plus it has ambitions to continue to grow through further acquisitions. As a result, the Group has identified the need to add to its central finance team, based at the corporate centre in Hemel Hempstead and is looking for an ambitious qualified accountant to join as a Group Financial Accountant.

Description

  • Assisting in the control of the Group consolidation reporting system, creating timely collation of financial accounting information, ensuing adherence to Group accounting policies / applicable GAAP
  • Involvement in all aspects of the Group's month end, in half / full year end close processes plus consolidation and financial reporting.
  • Assisting with ad hoc financial analysis and support to the Group FC and divisional finance teams.
  • Direct involvement in the preparation of the plc 'glossy' plus all UK subsidiary company statutory accounts.
  • Working with the external auditors to ensure an efficient audit in the centre, plus across the Group.
  • Working on technical compliance with all relevant accounting and reporting standards (including inter alia revenue recognition, leasing, financial instruments, pensions & share option plans), delivery of evolving accounting policies and clear and effective group financial reporting.
  • Working with the Assistant FC to deliver the agenda for Internal Audit (working with our external provider) and, as necessary, completing control reviews of the operating divisions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of materials for both the Risk and Audit Committees.
  • Working on all areas of central financial responsibility, including corporate tax accounting, FX exposures, bank debt covenants, dividend capacity & distributable reserves.

Profile

  • High calibre newly / recently qualified accountant with 1+ years PQE in either industry or practice
  • Strong technical accounting expertise
  • Practical knowledge and experience of Group / consolidation reporting processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly to different levels of management with appropriate detail
  • Experience of reviewing, developing and performing key controls testing
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel. Past use of or knowledge of SAP / SAP BPC is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Flexible as to the necessary time commitment, in particular in busy periods and prepared to travel as required.
