Responsibilities

The role comprises of the following key responsibilities:

  • Analyse current and past trends in short and medium term cash flow with specific focus on UK performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of weekly and monthly financial reports.
  • Drive the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting and Modelling tools and reports
  • Assist in managing the quarterly review governance process and the business plan (CY+1 to CY+4) setting
  • Support the development and implementation of the group's strategic plan in conjunction with the CEO office/Group Strategic and Transformation Director
  • Work with a Business Intelligence teams to drive enhancements to tools and reporting

The right candidate will play a key role in providing financial analysis and insight into the performance of the business, including reports to the European and Group Executive Committees (EEC and GEC), ad hoc analysis and a range of business improvement projects.

Key experience and skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's Degree (hons) 2:1 or above
  • Ability to interact with Senior leadership both finance and non-finance
  • Significant experience in an FP&A or Professional Services Advisory role
  • Evidence of working in a fast paced, high change environment and able to manage multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality and attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills and systems experience
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organised
  • Capable to work within a team, but also able to deliver work on own merit
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills including inspiring trust and influencing; communicating technical financial information in a clear and commercial manner; adapting style and content for different audiences; and demonstrating a confident, credible and accomplished presentation style
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Previous engineering / construction industry experience desirable but not essential
