Assistant Management Accountant - Gloucester - £25,000 - £30,000 per annum - Hays Accountancy & Finance

Hays Accountancy and Finance are currently recruiting for a driven and dynamic Assistant Management Accountant to join a leading group of companies supporting the Group Financial Controller based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. You will be responsible for primarily working within the manufacturing company, in a varied and hands-on accounting role where you can really develop further and add commercial value.

Your new role

Your key duties will include assisting with the production of monthly Management Accounts including journals, prepayments, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead analysis. Daily posting of stock journals, weekly bank reconciliations, including posting non-sales ledger and non-purchase ledger receipts and payments. Weekly payroll reconciliation and internal reporting against budget, monthly inter-company account reconciliations and raising of necessary recharge invoices and posting of relevant transactions. You will be involved in the maintenance of fixed asset register, VAT returns, investigation of variances and discrepancies, accounts analysis, assisting with annual audit pack preparation and supporting the Group Financial Controller with various ad-hoc projects.

What you'll need to succeed

For this exciting and varied Assistant Management Accountant role you will have experience within a similar finance role, ideally part-qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA with the ability to investigate anomalies and have key communication skills to build relationships at all levels. Strong MS Excel skills are essential with an emphasis on the attention to detail and the ability to manage workloads towards time-constraint deadlines. You will need to have worked within the Manufacturing sector previously, Sage 500 experience would be advantageous.
