Title: Business Analyst Work type: Full time, for 6 month contract Work location: St. Michael, Barbados Company overview: LCI is a management consulting and solutions firm that specialises in Organisational Transformation & Change Management, Strategic Planning and Business Development, Human Resource Advisory and Business Operations. Role overview: As LCI grows its operations and develops its regional portfolio of data and finance services, it is seeking a qualified and motivated Business Analyst to provide technical expertise. The Business Analyst will provide dedicated support to the portfolio and contribute toward portfolio development. Responsibilities: Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc.) taking into account company's goals and financial standing Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on sound analysis Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in finance, Economics, or related field Professional experience as a finance analyst Experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages Demonstrated knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis Strong understanding of current financial environments, accounting, tax laws, market and business environments Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications Additional Criteria : Demonstrated advisory skills 5 to 7 years' experience in project management Qualifications and/ or experience as a Human Resource professional and/or a background in statistics Experience in headcount modelling, and Full Time Equivalent (FTE) would be an asset Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret statistics Strong technical skills, including to produce and manipulate a range of forecasting and numerical analysis tools including spreadsheets, pivot tables and databases Ability to influence people using a range of appropriate techniques and approaches Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with people at all levels within an organization including managers, staff and officers Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement Ability to operate independently, as well as work together with a team when required
