Company Accountant

Full time opportunity available for a qualified and experienced Accountant to assume a hands-on role and take full responsibility for our accounts function.

What will you be doing as our Accountant?

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for:

* The production of Monthly Management Accounts.
* Payroll, VAT and Companies House filings.
* Liaison with the company’s bankers and HMRC.
* Internal responsibility for the company’s IT systems. (Day-to-day system support is provided by an external IT company).

The role will also include supervision of two part time Accounts Assistants, who are responsible for Sales and Purchase Ledgers, bank reconciliations, petty cash and general accounting duties.

What skills and experience will you need to be considered?

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), who is able to demonstrate good stock control skills and have experience of working in a small company environment, ideally within the construction and / or stone industry. Good PC skills are necessary, and experience of the following systems is required:

* Microsoft Excel and Word
* Sage 50 Accounts

You must also be a good communicator as it will be important to communicate effectively internally with senior managers and externally with clients and suppliers.
