Trainee Management Accountant

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a fast developing company based in Cambridge City Centre as a Trainee Management Accountant. In order to apply for this role candidates will have worked in industry and will be studying towards their ACCA or CIMA.

As Trainee Management Accountant you will support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports, year-end financial statements, annual business surveys and tax returns. The Trainee Management Accountant is also expected to lead Ad hoc projects that will drive continuous improvement across the group finance function.

Role requirement

* Prepare monthly management accounts to include reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts (stock, debtors, creditors, bank, intercompany) within allocated timelines
* Provide variance analysis to budget and forecast and generate reports for management that inform decision making
* Undertake overheads analysis and carry out monthly review meetings with budget stakeholders
* Support the annual budgeting process
* Manage the inventory and WIP reconciliations and control accounts
* Update and manage rolling cash-flow forecast
* Assist with Company Secretarial duties
* Be point of approval for supplier payments and expenses
* Undertake continuous review of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations
* Ensure business is compliant with all financial regulations

Skills requirement

* Part qualified Level ACCA/CIMA
* Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced business environment. Must be able to manage multiple priorities successfully
* Objective-oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs little direction or supervision. High energy level and enthusiasm are critical
* Prior Preparation of accounts- accruals, prepayments, review of overheads
* Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
* Strong excel skills
* Strong communication skills.
* Effective time management and organisation.
* Interpersonal skills, building positive working relationships with other departments
* Interest and passion to integrate themselves in the business to gain a thorough knowledge of the businesses products, processes, and development.
